We are committed to Aboriginal children staying connected to culture

How we support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children

ACT Together is committed to supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children remain connected to culture through kinship care, cultural planning and the provision of training to carers and staff.

ACT Together recognises the benefit to children who can be placed in a kinship placement from early on in their care journey, particularly children from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

We acknowledge adoption is culturally inappropriate for Aboriginal cultures.

We welcome Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants.  If you would like to talk to us about becoming a kinship or foster carer, please call us on 1300 WEFOSTER or complete the carer enquiry form.
